From circuits to the shore, with some sandwiches and sunglasses in between.

Hi, I’m Mark Mesrobian, a lifelong Rhode Islander, entrepreneur, and proud resident of South County since 1985. I first landed here to attend the University of Rhode Island, and like many who discover the magic of this part of our state, I never left. I graduated from North Providence High School in 1985 and earned my B.S. in Electrical Engineering from URI in 1989. In 1998, I bought my home in Narragansett, where my wife and I still live today.

After college in 1989, the country was in one of the toughest recessions in decades. My friend Chris and I opened a Subway on Woodruff Avenue in Narragansett anyway. We opened January 16, 1991, the day the U.S. entered the Gulf War. It was not an easy time to start a business, and it taught me resilience early.

I spent six years at American Power Conversion helping one of Rhode Island’s great homegrown companies go global, then founded Complete Sourcing Solutions in 2001. In 2016 we launched Fifth & Ninth, a Rhode Island brand now carried by Nordstrom, Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters. Bold ideas can thrive right here in the Ocean State.

Rhode Island isn’t just where I live. It’s part of my DNA.
